GroFin Ghana was awarded “Outstanding Contribution to the Growth of SMEs” under the Corporate Special Recognition category at the first Ghana CFO Awards held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
CFO Award is the first of its kind in Africa, aside South Africa and Nigeria, Ghana is the third country to honor financial executives. Ghana CFO Awards is a yearly event recognizing the accomplishments of financial executives and organizations for their financial leadership and contributions to their companies’ growth. It is a unique platform to lift the veil on exceptional roles played by financial experts toward sustaining their organizational growth.
Speaking at the event, the Group CEO of InstinctWave/Group Publisher InstinctBusiness and convener of the Award, Mr Akin Naphtal said Ghana’s financial sector has undergone significant changes in recent years.
“Executives have had to step up their ante which has led to the transformation we are seeing right now. Innovative products and services abound and customers are smiling. It is with this backdrop, that we set up the Ghana CFO Awards.”
CFOs in organizations most often take their role very seriously yet they are not honored in any way. This award, he said will go a long way to challenge Finance executives to do more.
“It is a project that will look at those executives that have performed extraordinarily well and deserve to be honored. Indeed, the importance of the finance Industry cannot be overemphasized, considering the fact that it is the sector that drives many other sectors,” he added.
It is worth noting that GroFin Nigeria also won this award at the Nigeria CFO Awards earlier this month.
